Decaying Love
As my eyes blur from the tears
I reminisce on the past years
The pain left a strain on what we could’ve gained
We were good, gracious, and great
We were just youngs, yet every moment gave breath to my lungs
You were also a friend that freed me from our illusions of love
A drug and a dream
We lost connection
You left without an explanation
Leaving me clueless, counting every possible cause
When it was you all along, it was you who went wrong
How could you speak so highly of
This thing called love?
Just to throw it away and betray this decay
Because when the sun fell the fear we felt signified sheer truth
We knew what we had lost, we knew the true cost
A drug and a dream
We lost connection
You weren’t all to blame for this pain
What we had was a lost sheep
Long gone no more room for ponder
Now is our time to think and thrive throughout the next chapter of our lives
Maybe this was for the best, we are no longer beggars to be better
We are now the very air we breathe. Free. Free from shackles.
A drug and a dream
We lost connection
Refrain: Never Ending, by. C. Sabo / Rihanna
