Spring
A blanket of white’s
Now a carpet of green
Flowers once out of sight
Are now suddenly seen
And the cold is forgotten
As buds start to blossom
From land where white cotton
Once lay (now, that’s awesome!)
Where snowflakes once flew
Now take flight singing birds
And the harsh wind that blew
Is now humming soft words
Children’s jackets are stored
Hats and mittens soon go
The sweet warmth is adored
Though the kids miss the snow
Above all, no more sneezing
The colds have all gone
No more coughing and freezing
And pain when you yawn
Every flower holds hope
As they sprinkle each street
There’s no reason to mope
With the spring air so sweet
As the wintertime travels
We can see what warmth brings
What these months will unravel
As blossoms the spring
