Star Struck
Star Struck
We quietly glance around
Seeing no light
Our feet hit the ground
Making a sound so slight
The floor creaks
As we silently creep
As far as the world is concerned,
We are still asleep
Out the door and outside
Into the cool night air
Flashlight out,
We don’t want a scare
Soon we are down,
At the edge of the lake
Luckily for us,
It’s still hours before daybreak
We walk down the dock
In the dead of night
Turning off our flashlights,
We see a majestic sight
Billions of beautiful stars
Hanging in the sky
Everyone is awe in wonder
Nobody blinks an eye
We can see the big dipper
Outlined in bright stars
It is such a clear night
We might get to see Mars
Everybody looks at the beautiful sky
Little stars like candles in the blue so clear
But then we are caught by surprise
As the stars disappear
Then we looked to the east
And saw the morning light
This wonderful show is over
But it plays again tomorrow night
