Driver's License (Older Sister's perspective)
You got your driver's license last week
Just like you always talked about
'Cause we were so happy for you
To finally drive us to the mall
But today you drove through the suburbs
Crying 'cause he weren't around
And he's probably with his blonde 'friend'
Who always made me doubt
She's even much older than me
She's everything I was worried about
Yeah, today I saw through the suburbs
'Cause how could I ever look out for you?
And I know we weren't besties but I cannot see you cry for anyone
And I just can't imagine how you could be so broken now that he's gone
Guess he didn't write that song you sang to us about you
'Cause then you sang forever, now you drive alone and he's gone
And all your friends are tired
Of hearing how much you miss him, but
I kinda feel sorry for you
'Cause you'll never know how much I care about you-ou, yeah
Today I drove through the suburbs
And wished us driving home together
And I know we weren't besties but I cannot see you cry for anyone
And I just can't imagine how you could be so broken now that he's gone
Guess he didn't write that song you sang to us about you
'Cause then you sang forever, now you drive alone and he's gone
Red lights, stop signs
I can see your face in train tracks, death posters
Can't drive away from you, places we used to go to
'Cause I care and have your back, lil sis (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Childhood we crossed
I can hear your voice in the traffic, you're screaming
Over all the noise
God, I'm so pale, know I love you
And I care and have your back, lil sis (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
And I know we weren't besties but I cannot see you cry for anyone
And I just can't imagine how you could be so broken now that he's gone
Guess he didn't write that song you sang to us about you
'Cause then you sang forever, now you drive alone and he's gone
Yeah, he did leave you, but I love you and care for you, sis

BUT your lyrics are very, very, very BEAUTIFUL... I love how the older sister speaks about her care for her younger sister...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As for your sister, I give you the same advice I gave you before when you commented in one of my poems; care for your sister but don't show it to her. Always be there for her but don't let her know...
This is to my step-sister who is the same age as I but a few months younger and she suffered a breakup and she was like so broken. She didn't get her driver's license yet; she's a bit young but it was like, she liked a boy in her class and they went out for a movie, in a platonic way though, and he was like, he acted as if he were interested in her and when she asked him out(without showing amorous feelings) for another pg13 rated movie, he was like, "Who the hell are you! Your family background is not even close to mine. You have an illegitimate step-sister who is in Foster care and an autistic little brother. Your Mom is broke. And there's that bunch of fools who you call siblings. You're bad influence. You're !#@*#$!"
That's when she lost it and she slapped him right on his cheek. She didn't tell us anything and she was like occupied in her room most of the time and we were like thinking that she had met a boy and did not want to invade her privacy. That's when my youngest Foster brother became nosy and asked about the 'boy' from her best friend at school and we got to know about it. We were like so shocked. Then, all my siblings and I went to her and told her that we always love her and we always have her back. She is really beautiful and I've been jealous of her too especially due to it. But, she deserves much happiness than I. I want her to get quadruple the joy I get in my life and minus-quadruple the sorrow in her life. That's my only wish.🤞
We might have fought and might have not got along at times. Even there was a time when we wanted the same boy as a date for a party and he went out with her. I didn't talk with her for a few days and accused her of robbery. But still, I do love her and care for her just like how the words of the above song say. Brooke, I don't know if you'll ever read this because I don't have the gut to share it to you but remember, I love you And I'm always there for you, sister.
