The darkness of the void that waits
So close but so far from our reach
We’re told the stars above is our fates
In the days of old much they would teach
No longer do I see a once beautiful place
All I see is the darkness of space, that still awaits

My highschool teacher for my Creative Writing class told us to think creatively when we listened to different sounds made around the classroom. Many were Sci-Fi themed so I created the poem based off what I thought of space and how we know so little.
