Stupid Little Girl
I was just a
stupid little girl
life was a just a
pretty little swirl
I didn't know the rules.
All I saw were jewels.
and
I didn't know that trust
was a sword full of rust,
just as spoken,
quickly broken.
I didn't know that
every deed here
had a price
I didn't know that
every weed here
had a vice.
I didn't see the tight surrounding box of glass,
the perfect plastic lawn I could never trespass.
I didn't know that
I was screaming to the wind.
I didn't know that
sinners always sinned
I know its
so obvious,
yet I was
oblivious.
No. I'll get older.
but I'll remember.
"I know, I know
On that most fateful day.
in an assuring way,
I
will
win"
with a grin
For now
I'll write and write
for worst,
to shine the light.
'Cause
I'm
just
a
stupid
little
Don't blame me.
Don't shame me.
I'm just a
stupid
little
girl.
