Matthew 6:34 - "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Dear Sea

Captor of the free

Hear my plea…

Oh Tide

Sing a lullaby

For my sullen eyes…

I was once a mortal being, once free

Walking amongst sailors in open land

Now I beg the sea to hear my plea

I beg the vile nymphs to understand

I am held captive with the remains

Of tortured souls before me

I lie in the sand of a thousand graves

Their bones lost in this wretched sea

Will my strident voice join the thousands

Of souls that have died long before I?

Will my weary bones become enchanted diamonds,

Trinkets for mortals to collect in the Tide?

Dear Sea,

Captor of the free,

Hear my plea…

You’ve captured me,

I must be free

From this forsaken void

Oh, Tide

Sing a lullaby

For my sullen eyes…

I’m left to drown

I wait to be found

I’m given no choice

I was meant to wander

Across my wondrous fields

Now I’m caged beneath these waters

My fate, soon, will be sealed

As I wait for a sign, the chains you’ve placed

Grow tighter along my battered skin.

Fury cascades down my spine, I’ve been replaced

To suffer your committed sins.

You, oh nefarious Sea, encaged me here

With these depths of insufferable silence

And you gladly watch as I shed these tears

From the malevolent causes of your defiance

Dear Sea,

Captor of the free,

Hear my plea…

Undo these wrongs,

I don’t belong-

How long must you keep me here?!

Oh, Tide

Sing a lullaby

For my sullen eyes…

Act as my saint;

Shatter these chains

Before I disappear…
