Empty Love
I was in the kitchen
You were ‘cross the room
You smiled at me
But I had to look away
I was thinking it was you
But I wasn’t quite sure
You looked so familiar
Like I’ve seen you before
I whispered to Ellen
But it came out very loud
I think that is him
And you smiled at me quite proud
My first impression was correct
When I realized it was you
For you were unbelievably amazing
And absolutely too good to be true
We tried going out
For many weeks and days
But we say our goodbyes now
As we go our separate ways
It wasn’t a fairytale
Or my happily ever after
But we are best friends now
With more than just laughter
I hug you every so often
In the hallway when I get a chance
I look at you when you pass by
And I take more than just one glance
