MEANT TO BE
Once upon a time / in a land so far away /
There was a place where my dreams would come / but never stay
And when they come // when they come along /
I reach out to grab them / but once I do they’re gone
And when I grab the air /
Seeing that nothing is there /
My heart begins to rip / my heart begins to tear
What should I do / to fulfill my dreams? /
There is nothing to live for / except living for hope it seems
Then I saw her /
Then I saw her face /
And in the midst of her eyes /
All except one dream was erased
I walked up to her / eager to trust in faith /
I got a little closer / to see her familiar face
It was her / the girl from my dreams /
Then I realized / nothing was what it seemed
My dreams never escaped me / they just waited for the right time /
For that girl from my dreams / that girl was meant to be mine
And as I looked // drowning in her eyes /
I told her softly / I had a secret that was no lie
She looked back at me / like she had seen me before /
Then she replied softly / tell me this secret of yours
I whispered…
Once upon a time / in a land so far away /
There was a place where my dreams would come / but never stay
And when they come // when they come along /
I reach out to grab them / but once I do they’re gone
And when I grab the air /
Seeing that nothing is there /
My heart begins to rip / my heart begins to tear
What should I do / to fulfill my dreams? /
There is nothing to live for / except living for hope it seems
I was about to speak / but she covered my lips /
As I looked into her eyes / watching the tear drops drip
Looking up at me / with astonishment
She said softly / let me finish it
Then I saw you /
Then I saw your face /
And in the midst of OUR eyes /
All except one dream was erased
