Transcendentalism
Yesterday I went on a journey
Completely oblivious to where it would take me
Like a twisting road, I couldn’t see around the bend
I started out unsure of what I was doing
Then I took a deep breath in and saw the beauty
Had I missed out on everything?
A river flowed to my left, I heard the birds cry
I let the wind take me high
All alone on my own journey
It’s hard to describe the feeling, but I was at peace
I want to love, I want to be free
Transcendentalism takes me on a journey
I’d been missing out on everything.
Yesterday I went on a journey
Completely oblivious to where it would take me
It felt good to get away, even for one day
Laid down in the soft grass
I watched the sunrise
So many beautiful colors stretching for miles
It made me appreciate my whole life
Grasped for the wind as it rushed through my hand
Through my head back and took it all in
I couldn’t believe all the beauty, I had never seen
Oh, I want to love, I want to be free
Transcendentalism takes me on a journey
I’d been missing out on my whole life, before
I want to love, I want to be free
Yesterday I went on a journey
Changed the way I see the world.
