Cemetery Hill
Voices travel on the wind,
Translucent clouds hang over the earth.
Dark the sky, the stars and moon
Sparkle with smiles of laughter and mirth.
The tombstones shine tonight;
Their faces resplendent, their epitaphs gleam.
The moon casts light behind the trees,
But blocked by branches and persons the beam.
The people feast and sing with joy,
Their loved ones gone and silent still.
Celebrations of life are held
On these the nights of homage on cemetery hill.
Yet amidst the joy and laughter rings
The call of sorrow and forgotten days,
When children's voices rose to sing,
And men feared not to boy and pray.
