Something Better
I'm looking over my shoulder tonight,
and I wonder what there is for me.
I wonder what breath means.
As I walk down this road alone,
I wonder what will become of my bones,
when I die.
Something better has got to be,
Around the corner from me.
If there isn't I swear I'll forget,
Everything I see,
Before I go away.
You don't understand the way I am.
You just can't seem to comprehend,
That maybe my life wasn't nice.
Maybe it was full of strife.
Cause sometimes a broken home,
Can leave you feeling all alone.
Something better has got to be,
Hiding in this life from me.
Because when I look around,
All I can do is frown,
At this life's painful scenes.
In the darkness there might be,
A flash of hope one prays to see.
Because in this life,
We can't seem to run,
Far enough away.
