smile
she goes to school with money in her wallet
driving her blue grand prix
saying hi to friends in the hallway
without a care nor a worry
but that's just what everyone sees
her heart is torn
and underneath the makeup
her eyes are worn
from crying til she woke up
and she feel forlorn
but she will never speak up
so just what everyone sees
is her smile
sitting in class
she chats with those near her
all of the teachers she walks by
they greet her
she's in the clubs and the sports she can be
but that's just what everyone sees
her heart is torn
and underneath the makeup
her eyes are worn
from crying til she woke up
and she feels forlorn
but she will never speak up
so just what everyone sees
is her smile
she joins the clubs
to stay away from her house
she has scratches on her wrists
underneath her blouse
constantly wondering what everyone is thinking
hoping that no one can sense how she is feeling
she feels it's weakness is she lets it show
so no one will ever know
because she smiles
but her heart is torn
and underneath the makeup
her eyes are worn
from crying til she woke up
and she feels forlorn
but she will never speak up
so just what everyone sees
is her smile
