Mommy Help Me
Mommy won’t you tell me
what life was like for you
when you were just like me
 how you never did
 what grandma told you to
and how fair life will never be

 Mommy won’t you explain
 how things haven’t changed
since you did all the things
 I’m not to do
and how I can make decisions
 if I can prove
that I’m not as foolish as you

 Mommy won’t you help me
 fix my problems
 I know you’ve seen
 this all before
 I’m glad you don’t think
 this doesn’t happen
but now I need help even more

 Mommy I’m not ready
 to be on my own
 and your not ready
 to let me go
So why don’t you tell me
 how things haven’t changed
I know you’ve seen this all before.

Mommy I’m not ready to walk out
 your door.
