Gone [Empty]
Maybe I was wrong
 All along
 Maybe you were right
When you said I should fight
But I can’t fight it, no
 I can’t fight it

It’s like going onto the battlefield unarmed
Or playing a concert with a broken guitar
Repeating a story that you’ve never heard
Or singing a song when you don’t know the words
 Everything I need is gone
 Gone

 Maybe it was unreal
To think my wounds would heal
You know I was in strife
When I said I didn’t need you in my life
 Wish it weren’t over, no
 It’s over

Like going to a dance alone
Or talking aloud when no one’s home
Putting on a show when nobody’s there
 Or simply confessing my despair
It’s not the same without you
 Without you

And I guess you never know what you’ve got
 Until it’s gone
I was meant to be alone all along
I was meant to be alone

Like filling a glass with a hole poked through
Or writing an essay on things you never knew
Writing a song when you just can’t think
Or writing on paper with invisible ink
 Life is empty
 (Without you)
 It’s empty
