Goodbye to You
I was trapped in a love
 So demanding
 Underhanding
 Lied to, cheated
 And stabbed in the back
 It wasn’t real
 Wasn’t true
 I’d brought the sky
 Down for you
 Didn’t listen
 Didn’t care
 Didn’t love me
 It wasn’t fair
 Your hate was more
 Than I could bear
So I had to get away

 You did what you swore
 You’d never do
 You proved that sometimes
 Dreams don’t come true
Even after all I gave to you?
So I stand under this sky
 No longer blue
 And with no regret
 I say goodbye to you

 Your little heart
 Was so commanding
 Reprimanding
 Given up, tossed away
 And left for dead
 Didn’t notice
 Nothing new
 After all I did
 For you?
 Didn’t put in
 Any fight
 Tore away
 It wasn’t right
 Haunted my dreams
 Every night
So I had to get away

 You did what you swore
 You’d never do
 You proved that sometimes
 Dreams don’t come true
Even after all I gave to you?
So I stand under this sky
 No longer blue
 And with no regret
 I say goodbye to you

 So tell me
 Who I am to you
 Why you needed
 Someone new
 Well maybe I
 Can move on, too
 I can make this dream
 Come true

 You did what you swore
 You’d never do
 You proved that sometimes
 Dreams don’t come true
Even after all I gave to you?
So I stand under this sky
 No longer blue
 And with no regret
 I say goodbye to you
