"How time can move both fast and slow, amazes me..."
-Bright Eyes

This story is being written
With every breath in my being
Escaping through my fingers
And trembling on the keys
The trick, the trick is
To pretend I'm not writing you at all

Let's get me an education
Let's get me some kind of degree
I saw an agenda in a wastebasket
By the corner of your university

This story is being written
With every breath in my being
Escaping through my fingers
And trembling on the keys

I'm wearing my favorite shirt in the mirror
It's got blue patches on the sleeves
And the typewriter's typing away in the next room
Like a sadistic fax machine,
Wait, holy s***, I can't breathe

Is this my last weekend?
These words feel like the end of the world
I think the trick is
To pretend I'm not writing you at all

Like I would anyway
I would anyway

This piece, to me, is about how hope still lingers within the people who trusts it, no matter how far they stray. Along with hope, a tricky connection between narrator and his/her infatuation with said person. I wrote this as the climax of these two points in my life were erupting simultaneously just last week. I hope you guys can relate to this in any way you feel suits, but let it be powerful as it was to me.

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments which take your breath away.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

Amazing work!

"Me?
Well, I’m well.
Well, I mean I’m in hell.
Well, I still have my health
At least that’s what they tell me
If wellness is this, what in hell’s name is sickness?"

I'm really surprised how well-written this is. I saw a bunch of ordinary titles when I clicked on the general song lyrics page, but then I saw the title of your lyrics and thought, Hmm, this sounds intriguing. But really, I love lyrics. Thank you for sharing.

This poem actually made me cry. Fantastic work.

This is SO beautiful. There's something about the imagery that, not only brings me into the moment, but connects me with the mood youre in. I can't name it, but I know that, for me, it's an amazing unusual sense of boredom, one that I admire of you, (if that makes sense.) It's refreshing!
