The Mage
Thirteen years have come to pass
Since I became on with
The earth and the sky.
I remember when he came first to me
His eyes were what I noticed first
Piercing seemingly beyond this reality.
The people of the town were frightened
Their legends breeding superstitions
They drove him away
And, cursing his name,
Ensured he never returned.
In the end my curiosity
Got the best of me
And I inquired of their fear.
They told me an ancient tale
Of a man, come of the night
Who cursed all the people
And slaughtered the cattle
And left them all to die.
They claimed that he came
From a spire beyond the peaks
Of Zurkion, ancient impasse.
They warned me that
Whoever ventures beyond
The Forest Eringale
Nigh on never return.
Ignoring their warnings,
I passed beyond the vale
Of Vuhron, my home.
