Hour Glass (Airplanes Remix)
If I could change the pace of each moment in an hour glass
I would make it just slow down
Just slow down
Just slow down
If I could change the pace of each moment in an hour glass
I would make it just slow down
Just slow down
Just slow down
It’s funny how I don’t even know where to start
As I seem to forget that, I was once sacred of the dark
That every time I closed my eyes there’d be a scarring mark
There would be no lights, no fire no spark
It just seemed like there was no one there for me
Hate was just like love it was all a treat
Everyone is acting like I as if I even had a choice
Old people used to the wise ones
Now their actions cause them to be shunned
What happened to something called self-respect?
It went from playing with dolls to pregnancy tests
Now can someone tell me what I missed?
Daddies little girls trying to get it in
They deprive themselves of what the future holds
And when you cry for help, no one will know
If I could change the pace of each moment in an hour glass
I would make it just slow down
Just slow down
Just slow down
What happened to those old school rhymes long ago
When Public Enemy & Poison was on a roll
When your skin tone did not determine who the hell was a man
But now race seems to have the dam upper hand
Where people were never under the assumption
That living in the ghetto your were just another one
We all have talent hidden inside of our souls
And they will shine before our eyes and eventually unfold
Where being popular just was out of the blue
That self-expression was just a major attribute
That rapping and dancing had plenty attitude
Where 10 year olds did not rep that swoop
So if I had wish
Take me to that time of bliss
Where love was happily sealed with a kiss
Id change our circumstances by the clenching of a fist
I’d wish to take the world and make into anything.
If I could change the pace of each moment in an hour glass
I would make it just slow down
Just slow down
Just slow down
If I could change the pace of each moment in an hour glass
I would make it just slow down
Just slow down
Just slow down
I would make it just slow down
I would make it just slow down
Life would be safe and sound!
I would make it just slow down
Life would be safe and sound
