Second Time
Do you remember
sweet sixteen love?
When my smiles for you
shined brighter than the sun above.
And how true it was
how kind you were
So gentle, never lust
but soon sunshine always turns to sunburn
We fought about the dumbest things
Always trying to hurt the other
and never actually
loving one another
Then summer days
turned to fall breezes
and school yards birthed
from sandy beaches
My heart broke
a second time
when I saw you and her
in the movie line
Just like us
You two looked
Just like us
It was more than I could take
So my heart decided
to break
A second time.
