Favorite Quote:
When your life is upside down, it may seem like you have to learn to stand on your hands to see things as normal again.

Touching your skin seems so distant.
Like a humming bird beats
You were gone in an instant.
I know that life's never fair
Now I'm on a sidewalk to nowhere.

I'm on a sidewalk to nowhere.
I taste you on the stale air.
I can tell you I don't care.
But I wish that I was there.

I'm on a sidewalk to nowhere.
As I walk there's a blank stare.
No sounds. No lights.
Wondering where you are tonight.

When we met it was true love.
That I am sure of.
Now things have changed, rearranged
And silence doesn't seem so strange.

I'm on a sidewalk to nowhere.
I taste you on the stale air.
I can tell you I don't care
But I wish I was there.

The author's comments:
I was at a friend's house when I was inspired for this song. I saw a piece of sidewalk that lead into an empty lot. I said to myself: "Huh, a sidewalk to nowhere." It sounded profound, so I wrote it down. I built this ballade off of that line.
