A Land of Loathing Named Las Vegas
“There is no such thing as reality. Just layers of surrealism, laced with the Seven Deadly Sins.”
They say “You shouldn’t stay.”
How could I turn away?
I drove all through the night
To view a horrid sight.
I pulled into the city
Of lustful shining lights.
Sins abound, so much to see.
The demons of this city follow me.
There’s no escape. There’s nowhere to turn.
(Where’d ya go?)
I gotta feed it so it stops gnawing my insides.
I take another spin as I start to burn.
(Where’d ya go?)
It feels so good to sin. It’s not like it mattered this time.
I’m dealt another hand.
There are no more reprimands.
I held an Ace of Skulls
‘Cause that’s what they had planned.
My life was now enslaved.
My soul was on demand.
Although I’ve been depraved,
I wanna play again.
Vision’s died with dignity.
Surrender thoughts of your security.
There’s no escape. There’s nowhere to turn.
(Where’d ya go?)
I gotta feed it so it stops gnawing my insides.
I take another spin as I start to burn.
(Where’d ya go?)
It feels so good to sin. It’s not like it mattered this time.
So, it seems we’ve played too long.
Now that it’s crystal, we’ve been strung along.
Will you heed this final prayer?
With claws that latch, so poisonous. A nightmare.
They say, “You shouldn’t stay.”
How could I turn away?
Hope died with yesterday.
These thoughts, they aren’t to blame.
As our sin paints the sand,
We’re dealt out final hand.
The effervescent lights,
Still rarely ever bland.
Essence and soul are sucked out.
I’ll make my final stand.
But what if you’re not devout?
Does it matter in the end?
(Never believed in reality)
Ahahahah…
(Just illusion lace with our humanity)
There’s no escape. There’s nowhere to turn.
(Where’d ya go?)
I gotta feed it so it stops gnawing my insides.
I take another spin as I start to burn.
(Where’d ya go?)
It feels so good to sin. It’s not like it mattered this time.
So, it seems we’ve played too long.
Now that it’s crystal we’ve been strung along.
Will you heed this final prayer?
With claws that latch, so poisonous. A nightmare.
Straining voices follow now.
We’ve gambled with more than we ever knew how.
Visions as we drive away.
For this Sin City, just another day.
