Sublime
I always thought that you would be fine
until I dreamed about the sublime
I think the waves are drowning me under
I can still hear all this thunder
I still think that we have a chance
I still hope we are alright
(What do you think?)
I am keeping faith in miracles
times our age at dawn.
Dawn (x3)
(Darkness shrouds us…. Darkness shrouds us…)
I can still hear the telephone ringing
humming eulogies, singing
growing poppies and morning glories
whispering secrets past the spacings
that ringing sound, so ominous
blinding brusqueness, trace-less
don't you go hiding behind keys
"The way you're buried in lines of ink, stymied,
my heart is stocked with guilt."
frame my insecurities and lock them up
Cherry bombs make my thoughts hiccup
So please, please keep your face up
(Face up, Face up).
I always thought that you would be fine
until I dreamed about the sublime
I think the waves are drowning me under
I can still hear all this thunder
I still think that we have a chance
I still hope we are alright (what do you think?)
I am keeping faith in miracles
times our age at dawn
Dawn (x6)
(Darkness shrouds us…. Darkness shrouds us…)
Here, music boxes measure silence
We're looking to the stars for guidance
Your name rolls off my tongue just like the Roman puns
(and I never did like promises unsung.)
Our souls map the sky so we soar high
but we miss the sundial pointing to July
There's a misting in the air
Bermuda Triangle, this may be a nightmare
Radio switches on and off (on and off)
A rose as a sendoff (a sendoff)
let's fly into the air and take off (take off… take off…).
I always thought that you would be fine
until I dreamed about the sublime
I think the waves are drowning me under
I can still hear all this thunder…
I still think that we have a chance
I still hope we are alright
(What do you think?)
I am keeping faith in miracles
times our age at dawn
Dawn (x3)
(Darkness shrouds us…. Darkness shrouds us…
One day we will be illuminous.)
