Homeschooling

I’ve been at Hanes for two years now
And made a lot of friends,
But I can’t believe my Hanes career
Finally has to end.
My mom has decided to pull me out
And home school me instead,
But this recent big decision
Has caused me to dread:
“What about all the things I’ve done?
What about all the fun?
Why does all of that have to stop and be done?”
I think about how I won’t
See my friends any more,
And this realization
Hurts like a sore.
But then I remember the good things
Of homeschooling for 7th grade,
And then I don’t feel
As sad or afraid.
Just think of all the time I’ll have
To do what I choose,
And I will start school later in the day
Which means more time to snooze.
I can learn the stuff at my own pace
So I won’t be confused,
But just because I’m being homeschooled
Doesn’t mean I’ll be excused.
I’ll still have lots of work to do
And projects to complete,
But I will be done a lot quicker
And that will be a treat.
I’ll still be able to hang out with
My friends from other places,
But I just won’t be seeing
The friendly Hanes faces.
Homeschooling will be a
Sad but sweet opportunity,
And I think that this choice
Is the right one for me.

I hope this can help anyone going through the same transition as me, or for whoever might be thinking about homeschooling. This is from my opinion
Note:
I have already submitted this piece, but later found grammar and punctuation errors. I polished it up and resubmitted it. This is my "new" version.
