Dear Mother
How could this tragedy happen?
Any day could be the last.
That I see your bright smile and wave hello.
Please, open your arms, so I can hug you one last time.
I exit the room, crying and sobbing.
All I can do, is wonder why.
I'd climb all the mountains in the world.
To bring back your love and care.
I don't know how you could leave me so.
So before I go I want you to know.
I love you. I love you. Do not cry a tear.
You'll be safe in the arms of God soon.
He'll carry you all the way home.
I love you. I love you. Do not fret, my dear.
Just fall asleep, and let your arms fall to the ground.
Angels will come to bring you beyond the sound.
Just let me sing to you, sweet mother, one last time.
No time to lose, no time for goodbye.
So just lie your head and close your eyes.
When you awaken, you'll be in the skies.
But until then I just want for you to know.
I love you. I love you. Do not cry a tear.
You'll be safe in the arms of God soon.
He'll carry you all the way home.
I love you. I love you. Do not fret, my dear.
Just fall asleep, and let your arms fall to the ground.
Angels will come to bring you beyond the sound.
Don't worry about me. I'll be fine.
I'll make sure I do my best to shine.
While the flowers bloom right outside this dreary window.
All I want to have you know.
(Slower pace)
I love you. I love you. I will cry my tears.
I'll always know, you're right here in my heart.
You always have been, from the start.
I love you. I love you. You had to leave so soon.
While I'm asleep, I'll dream of you.
You were there for me when the sun shined and the wind blew.
I love you. I love you. Please don't leave me now.
It can't be time to go.
So that's the last thing I wanted you to know.
Why does it have to be so hard to say goodbye?
Dear Mother, Dear Mother.
Promise that you'll watch me from the sky.
