Hold On
A mother lost her daughter
In the disaster in May
Someone's first newborn died
Before leaving the hospital that day
Kidnappings, drivebys
Broken families
Someone without their mother
My father without me
And it's so sad
For the world not to see
What's going on around them
Distractions that surround me
Somebody died
Just recently
Hurt people are crying
What's in the tears nobody sees
People with low income
Kids they can barely feed
Struggling for housing
The homeless in need
Falsely accused
And imprisoned for years
Abused there's no way out
So all that shows is tears
And it's so sad
For the world not to see
What's going on around them
Distractions that surround me
Somebody died
Just recently
Hurt people are crying
What's in the tears nobody sees
Hold on
Stay strong
Look to God
To keep you going
Hold on
They'll be a way
Things will change
Then it will all be over
All be over
And it's so sad
For the world not to see
What's going on around them
Distractions that surround me
Somebody died
Just recently
Hurt people are crying
What's in the tears nobody sees
