Cinema
There’s a factory somewhere in Newark
That manufactures wheels hell bent
and intent on revolution
I saw a terrible film at the cinema
It had awkward transitions between each of the scenes
It’s all illusion
It had me yawning
but not an aggravating amount
Because you looked at me
and then you kissed me on the mouth
It was a happy moment I almost I almost I almost
thought of her
But I didn’t. Instead I looked back at the screen.
Watching a dream at the cinema
Making up wishes scene by scene by scene by scene by scene
Waiting for children to come on home
But they’re gone now, I suppose I’ll make due with myself
Stabbing my hands on the grand piano
Looking for noises that I know I can’t make
While in two more weeks it’s a holiday
I should get to see you but I won’t I drove a stake
Into the foundation of several burned down houses
I’ve lost my sense of elation
and now I don’t know how I’ll ever find my home
It had me crying
but not an aggravating amount
Because you couldn’t hear me
You’ll never kiss me on the mouth
Again
Watching a dream at the cinema
Making up wishes scene by scene by scene by scene by scene
Waiting for children to come on home
But they’re gone now, I suppose I’ll make due with myself.
