Revolution In Your Hands
Mama gave birth, to a champion
To a fighter, a dreamer, a man
But I didn't always know who i was
Oh I tell ya the story is quite a bit different
Then how I had planned
Growin up I don't remember many smiles
Since about the age of 5
Couldn't keep up with the other kids
Had a bike I never learned to ride
Didn't know what good friends were
Till around the age of twelve
Man I was bullied for oh so long
Guess we all share that kinda hell
But I was a strong kid, somewhere down inside
I would make my name known
In the city where I reside
Got a talent for writing, a passion for speaking my mind
I tell you everything that I feel in my bones
Is what I bring to the surface tonight
You ain't got nuthin, till you got nothing left to lose
And when you got nuthin left to lose you're finally free
Oh my mama gave birth, to a champion
To a fighter, a dreamer, a man
But I didn't always know who i was
Oh I tell ya the story is quite a bit different
Then how I had planned
Now I'm a young man at the tender age of twenty-one
Got nowhere to go but man I still try and run
There's a rebellion inside me waiting to burst at the seams
Man if you didn't know me you'd think I was just plain crazy
And you're right.....I probably am
And this wasn't quite how I planned
Mama gave birth, to a champion
To a fighter, a dreamer, a man
But I didn't always know who i was
Oh I tell ya the story is quite a bit different
Then how I had planned
Mama gave birth, to a champion
To a fighter, a dreamer, a man
Oh now I know who I am
And there's a revolution waitin to be born
In the palms of my hands
Stars in stripes in my heart
And a red letter A in my soul
The future belongs to the brave
The daring, the bold
