Waking up with depression
The birds will chirp, the sun will rise,
but it is still dark inside my mind
the day awaits with many adventures
but my bed still seems like a better endeavor
my mother yells, “it’s time to go”
I try to get up
but I still can’t control
I feel like anchors are weighing me down
my blankets wash over me like waves to a shore
I keep telling the moon,
I don’t want to wake up anymore
