Can't Save You
You carried on an apathetic disposition
Shooting bullets down your throat
oh you’re inserting a bullet down your throat
As those cigarettes head straight for the heart
And they always head straight for the heart
can’t you see the sky is yellowing?
no, that is just the ceiling
can’t you see why people are leaving?
You looked only at yourself all along
You’ve got two lighters in your hand
Which burned madly just as the addiction that had consumed you
I hated that the blunts you were devoted to instead
Cared not at all for you
You just
wait for the fuse to burn
to explode in your room
let the tray collect ashes from cigarettes along with yours
why don’t you
it’s harsh I know
but you’ve said meaner things
there was help but perhaps you never cared
we tried but perhaps it wasn’t our best
we lied for your sake, you cried by mistake
then quietly disposed of your hope, your money, your all…
and you either stood on a curb between life and death
or sat by a pile of the deserted ones like yourself
languid air you breathe today
will too soon fade away
