Chapter Two: Chasing Dawn
His eyes, ever so present, in the sky haunt my regretful choices like the twilight of the sun
My heart now desires to tread on new reason
Tangible concepts that bare down with oppression
I step into the in between
Where neither Love nor Hate breathe
I see there is pain with a locked gaze fixed at the window
Do those hurting eyes that stare back at you seek relief?
One’s heart could only hope
For something to marry that lonely widow
Blood in my veins has never felt so cold
Moving by grace
My heart remains in empty space
A true divorce exists in this divide
This reason is outside of mine
What will you redefine?
Chariots separate me from Him
It is my window into the outside world of true reality
Though I can see death within these passengers I dare not open my mouth or remark
Because on this chariot, with a hidden flame, lies a trek for my heart
And upon arrival it will stop beating
For there is a new song to sing at the end of the road
Tear this twisted heart out and let it go
For it will always find home in the atmosphere
I know where my soul belongs, and it’s here.
