I long for your voice to speak to me

For I cannot hold my breath much long before I weep

How could this be, was our parting meant to be?

It's been a while since I saw you, at last
My sorrow has declined but it still stings when I see you pass
Like a person that died from the past
Now only appear as a phantom that I see

This was not how I imagined you and I to be
We were supposed to be dear friends
But I guess I messed up in the beginning from the first end

I long for your voice to speak to me
For I cannot hold my breath much long before I weep
How could this be, was our parting meant to be?

As my heart races through the mind to relive memories
So quick but yet my mood becomes unease
The sound of thumps grow ever loud and fast
Can't help but wish for a spell to cast
So I could fix the mistake in the past
Too bad the magic is gone along with the past
... Is there still any chance to make it last?
Before our paths run its last gas?

I long for your voice to speak to me
For I cannot hold my breath much long before I weep
How could this be, was our parting meant to be?

Please don't let this be the end of what can be...

I hope this poem can connect with people that had a past relationship and felt strongly with the person they were with but are currently having no contact. This is my first publication on this website and I hope I made a good impression!
