How Little We Know
I'd never flown so high
I'd never fallen so low
But it's all in our minds
the places we go
And I held on to you
Like a branch that was blowing away
But it's up to us to choose
when we stay
Words can break us
but hands can heal
and hearts can find another home
And with each year
we learn again
how little we know about love
When I was blown apart
you put my pieces back in the wrong place
But we cannot decide
the memories that get erased
And I am finding day by day
that I am not my mistakes
Cause when it all falls away
we are the love that we create
Words can break us
but hands can heal
and hearts can find another home
And with each year
we learn again
how little we know about love
I thought you'd fallen from the stars
In your eyes, my thoughts came undone
But when you lose yourself completely
you haven't truly won
And I will soon find my way
on a path that I have made
To be young is to fall too fast
to run unafraid
Words can break us
but hands can heal
and hearts can find another home
And with each year
we learn again
how little we know about love
