Sad Satan
Oh, Sad Satan
Up from above,
Where was the light,
Where was the love?
Pavement, streets, corners and beds.
Thoughts I never knew to shed,
The hand so fierce,
Desire so keen,
Your hands could peirce,
I promised not to scream.
Oh, Sad Satan
Down from below,
I can see you,
Why so mellow?
Devotion to impulse.
Slave to desire,
The pain you inflict only fuels fires.
I lay and breathe,
All things dissipate,
Yet you stay to relieve I anticipate.
Oh, Sad Satan
Wished for purgatory,
Evil can win,
That’s the whole story.
You won’t even finish,
I won’t even cry.
They’ll never let you go
Thoughts never die.
Escape could be sin,
I say otherwise,
Structured or not,
I’ll never be televised.
Sad, sad Satan,
See what you did,
Word of mouth,
Oh what a bid.
Evil can leave,
Evil can stay,
But still what I ask,
Make it go away...

Throughout my life I've met many people who are beautiful, yet broken in the soul. They have been undeserved victims of the most horrific and traumatic crime of modern day society known as rape. This poem is dedicated to the voices I've heard throughout, how pain overwhelms the heart and leaves them hopeless. Although this poem is oriented strictly around pessimism, I know they can and have changed, my style of writing focuses on negatives mostly. Thanks for reading!
