Come Take Me Away
Oh naïve me would like nothing more,
Than to have my prince come sweep me off my feet
Come take me away
And never break my heart
Please don’t ever break my heart
Because if I stay in my fairy tale
I’d never have to hurt
It’s always happily ever after
Those are always the last words
But I’m weeping in this ball gown
On a spiral stairwell
Oh 'cause fairytales, were never have meant to have this kinda pain
Come take me away
And maybe you’d show in your carriage
And parade of horses
And you’d be so sweet and kind
And I’d never have to tell you goodbye
Or maybe you’d lead your men into battle
A fight to the death for me
But I sit here, just wishing…
That naïve old me will someday grow up and realize
That I’m no longer five
And a prince isn’t always kind
A pretty ball gown that turns heads won’t grant instantaneous love
So I tell myself,
“Get up from this dusty staircase in your mascara stained dress”
But I can’t help wishing,
That someday,
My prince will come take me away.
