As I sat on the couch
And watched TV
I couldn’t help to grouch
To what I see

All the news channels
Always seem grim
No matter the angle
The good news is slim

They tell many stories
In a variety of ways
And each category
A story to talk about for days

Doesn’t anyone realize
Why they are drawn
We are listening to lies
That’s what’s going on

Most stories are not true
They’re just parts of a whole
By adjusting the view
Confusion starts to role

What story they can find
They can turn it sour
They control people’s minds
With their abusive power

They made heroes look evil
And criminals look clean
And people who are peaceful
Look like they’re cruel and mean

With their dirty tricks
They spread their stories wide
Then with politics
They only support one side

With their many bluffs
They spread dishonest words
I just had enough
Of all the news I heard

Quit telling lies
Stop changing the verse
Don’t they realize
They turn things bad to worse

All the stories they planned
Talking in their booth
What they need to understand
They must tell the truth

Tell us the whole story
With no misleads
Don’t use any theories
Planting bad seeds

There’s more good out there
Focus on them instead
Shine on those who care
And let it be spread

Whenever they’re on TV
Trying to amuse
Between you and me
No news is good news
