She can’t wear her hair in twists no more
Because it ends up on the shower floor
And brother shouts she’s clogging up the drain
Everyone’s complaining ‘cept JEA

Maybe that’s why I’m unraveling
Just so I can hear you sing
“That I am so much that you ever did dream”
But it now seems
So twisted you’d be crawling back to me

Yellow teeth and tongues
Flower fields of lungs
Coughing up the perfect bouquet
And I would apologize to you
But frankly all I know to do
Is torture myself to fulfill my greed

Maybe that’s why I’m unraveling
Just so I can hear you sing
“That I am so much that you ever did dream”
But it now seems
So twisted you’d be unraveling with me
