Ode to an American's Undying Love of British Telly
The celebrated home of Hollywood
Has yet to reach that famed division
And surpass its greater, never quite could
That is, to say, British television.
The Great British Baking Show, Dr. Who
Jeeves & Wooster, claymations, BBC
Great Britain’s Got Talent (and Hugh Grant too)
Jane Austen ad’ptations and “Willoughby!”
A skydiving queen and Kate Middleton
Sherlock and Shakespeare and Downton Abbey
Wallace & Gromit and Tom Hiddleston
Winslet and Cumberbatch aren’t too shabby.
Perhaps tax without representation
Led to lesser TV in our nation.
