The night was Halloween my favorite night of the entire year

I hit all the good houses for the biggest candy bars that were near

Walking home I was very excited until I heard something in the woods

Could it be a monster or a thief trying to steal my goods

When I turned to look I saw nothing but a blank white mask 

Getting home safe right then became my only task

The woods didn’t reach where I lived so I felt protected

After immediately locking the doors no foe could come in undetected

My heart instantly dropped when I heard the doorbell ring

Could it be an innocent kid or an evil thing

As I look out the door I see nothing ahead

Please tell me this is a bad dream and I wake up in my bed

I turn around to see the masked man and get beheaded

We all knew where this story was headed
