How It Has To Be
I had your hand in my heart
Two people walking in a center rope line
Strangers we were
Hopeless from the start
Feline foes we turned to
Biting and tearing
Destroying all we ever had
Letting the tragic love in shades of blue
Leave a highlight in the sky
By day feline
By night lone wolf
Without a pack
Without a pride
It was unattainable
And now I know why
Your hand held my heart
And let go,
To the point where it wasn’t love
It wasn’t hate
It was indifference
