Flower Girl
Am I wrong to try for someone so kind?
To ask you when you are a shining light
And I am a void trapped in my mind?
Am I wrong to want your colors in my sights?
Someone who brings up flowers wherever they walk?
Who outshines the sun and is like the moon?
One who has no worries about people when they talk
Would it be so wrong to try for you soon?
You see me and smile, how is your smile sweet
When viewing something so bitter, strange, and cold?
You fix my broken pieces when we meet.
You say my name like honey, lovely and gold.
Perhaps if with your help and joy, I stay
I too will learn how to be kind one day.
