Evil Eyes
eyes so brown
meant to make me feel safe
yet a brown so dark
it makes my heart chafe
my lungs tighten
as i feel myself start to drown
losing hold of reality
my thoughts spin round and round
you watch as i lie there
face contorted in pain
you smile and i shiver
not an ounce of love will remain
and so im back here
looking into those dark eyes
but no longer am i drawn
to the pain they still disguise
your evil eyes...
this poem is about falling in love, which is typically described as "drowning in someone's eyes", but the person you fall for hurts and manipulates you purposely until you no longer love them the same way again...
