Admiring from a distance
Every time you look at me I falter
You smile like you know me so well
And I’m completely lost at your altar
I think you must be able to tell
You have everyone under your charm
All of nature comes when you beckon
Basking in your warmth I am safe from harm
And I feel free if only a second
Even the sweetest of melodies
Can not compare to the cool lilt of your voice
It is the greatest of remedies
To listen or not I have no choice
So I sit admiring from a distance
With my own stubborn sort of persistence
