Golden Patience
Each year I wait
For your warmth and sun,
Anxious, for winter to be done.
Emotions no longer mirror
Winter’s gloomy days.
A smile on my face
So enormous, to discern your golden rays
From your starry nights and periwinkle skies
You give life to this earth;
I wish you’d never say goodbye:
Sun-kissed skin, and golden tans
So blistering hot, I’d need a fan
Your morning dew and scented air
So fresh, winter I can not bare

This piece is about myself getting through the long and harsh winters here in Wisconsin. Wishing for summer to make its return, and for winter to go away. As I feel happier when the sun is out, and my emotions no longer mirror winter's gloomy days. I love summer!
