Am I Alive?
Am I alive?

I breathe in air and my heart continues to beat,
While your body has no heat

 Your hands are now cold
But they were never really mine to hold.

 Your chest is still
And with tears my eyes fill.

You never knew I was there
And you will never know that I still care

Throughout my day, I still wonder what you are doing
Then I remember where you are and my heart needs sewing

Someone needs to sew the tear in my heart
It is the piece that you don’t know you tore apart

Sometimes I think I can take each side back to where they once met
You come back to me and it is impossible to ever forget

The lips of your smile cut me in two
Because of them I will remember you

Life has left both of our eyes
But with stillness your body lies

Stillness is not a part of me
But love I shall never see

 I know you never knew
That I was willing to be a part of you
