A Rainy Day
It came in sheets on a cold winter day
Whipped by wind into mangled twisted wood
This dismal scene set the mood for dismay
It seemed the trees would cry if they could
The rain smashed the surface with aggression
For the end the forest seemed to have yearned
The air was heavy with dark depression
And the trees added to the windblown rain
Sending water dripping into the mud
The sound of rain beat an ugly refrain
Adding more and more to the awful flood
Seeing this water in its sad display
Has completely ruined my Saturday
