Sorrow filled our one heart and single mind
For now had come the day of greatest pain.
The workings of our hearts came down like rain
As we said goodbye to life’s greatest find:
A God-sent friend who is truly divine.
The one person who helps you to obtain
Healing freedom from unseen deadly chains.
But you were ripped from me by life unkind
Now many long days have passed from then to now.
Still I close my eyes and see only you

For my heart is locked and you are the key.
Forget you darling soon I must, but how?
A harder task I cannot find to do.
Oh, will this heartache ever release me?

The author's comments:
This was written for an English class and is really funny to me because I'm not at all like the voice of the poem and it was all made up.
