Reality Broke The Reverie
Looking back into a time when love was present;
Life was hopeful and convivial,
All was sublime in this marvelous reverie.
I look into a time when I was daring and had nothing to resent,
Before love's bewilderment became known and trivial,
But now reality has shredded the fantasy into thoughts of sorrowful pain,
Leaving me in the dark cold night, evading my heart-broken plea;
Excruciatingly, my heart was pulled in two, I can't bear this emotional torment-
I need something to heal this pain- a reconciling material
Daily I pray for a way to return to my soul its stolen glee;
I dream one day, joy will become real and I may seize to feign.
Wishing to forget when he promised to stay by my side, then fled into the abyss.
I long for felicity to return and forever retain;
I yearn for the dream to rebound and for once, not go amiss.
