She Rests Beneath the Skies
She rests beneath the starry skies
A dim blank look covers her eyes
 Like a thin mist,
 a silky guise
As she rests beneath the skies

 Her body still,
 cool to the touch
 So, so pale
 This is all too much
 Her ruby lips
 will tell no more lies
As she rests beneath the skies

 In her hand
 Delicate, yet dead
 Lays a flower
 A bright blood red
 She seems to clutch it
 But it can not hide
 Underneath this vast wide sky

 The flower wilts
 as the days go past
 They go by so quickly
 So, so fast
 Yet she stays there,
 not quite alive
 As she lays
 beneath the skies
