From Daughter to Father
You want an apology
When it’s not mine to give
Your expectations run high
And your love runs thin
I’m stuck whirlwind
Without an escape
And you stand there watching
No care but to gape
I’m supposed to be special
Especially to you
Yet you often get puzzled
By your job and your crew
I’m grateful you try
To gather what’s best
For me and for everyone
We all get to rest
But you’ve had a lifetime
I’m still so young
I want you to laugh
And stick out your tongue
Life is for giggles
Not only for money
I wish you weren’t busy
But tried to be funny
Your world is a business
You work, work and work
You’ve forgotten the value
Of life when we flirt
Because I am your daughter;
I don’t work for you
And you are my father
Not my editor too.
